I will be on Live TV! My Wild Week Juggling Dreams, Hiccups, and Dilemmas!

Okay, so here's the scoop – I'm going live on TV! I've been invited to discuss job-hunting strategies on a lifestyle show. The recording is this week, and I'm still deciding whether to suit up or keep it casual. What do you think? Any fashion tips?

Bright Lights & Butterflies of My TV Debut – Wish Me Luck or Maybe a Teleprompter!

Hope you're staying warm and cozy! As Knoxville got blanketed in a snowstorm (10 inches!), I found myself slowing down a bit, reflecting on a mix of professional strides and personal moments. Let me give you the lowdown on my week – it's been quite a ride.

Career Coach

Measuring Success

So, I've been mulling over what success means as a Career Coach. I think success in my coaching career involves two layers:

  • Engagement and Trust: Over 30 days, my writings have reached approximately 30,000 people, engaging around 400 and converting about 150 into followers. I've gained 12 potential clients, including 2 paying ones. That's a 0.0067% conversion rate (😃). I'm wrestling with this – is it a rookie's rite of passage, or should I be concerned? It's not just numbers; it's about real connections, which makes me wonder.
  • Delayed Gratification: A key success metric is clients landing their dream jobs and salaries. This is a time-delayed measure, and I eagerly await data to reflect this impact.

Valuable Connections and Rookie Errors

I had an awesome chat with Ruth Smith, a career pivot expert (who not only founded and sold her own staffing company but also steered the ship as a director of engineering at L3Harris), whose insights were incredibly enriching. But, oh boy, did I goof up with the recording. Note to self: double-check the tech stuff next time!

Upcoming Conference Alert

The International Particle Accelerator Conference in Nashville is around the corner (May 19-24, 2024). ORNL is right at the heart of it all, being the nearest particle accelerator facility to Nashville. It's a prime networking opportunity for those in the industry – for sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees alike. If you're keen or know someone who is, give me a shout.

Personal Life

Festive Times

It was festival time with Makara Sankranthi, plus our wedding anniversary! It was a week filled with joy and gratitude.

Exercise and Well-Being

Admittedly, I missed my exercise routine due to vacation but caught up with a rigorous four-day workout. Next week, I plan to double my efforts. However, sleep and nutrition have been challenging, with my writing schedule cutting into rest hours.

I use this newsletter as a way of motivating myself!

P.S. Big shoutout to those of you who chimed in on my pricing dilemma. Still hashing it out, but your insights mean the world. I'll keep you posted – promise!
